A small but common and annoying mistake with bags

The term for this used to be "inheritance". I recently inherited a Lacoste computer bag from a family member. Its original owner gave it as a gift, but he did not buy a new one to replace his dead machine, so the almost untouched bag has not been used for years. So he gave it to me, considering that I also take my laptop to the toilet with me. Don't let such a valuable, branded item sit unused in the closet.

It is not a very elegant thing to look at the teeth of a gift horse, but on the one hand, it is an inherited horse, and on the other hand, it is still shocking that such a relatively expensive bag (the price may have been around twenty thousand forints) should have such a primitive defect.

The problem occurs with a lot of bags, and for some reason it always annoys me. It is the element connecting the shoulder strap to the bag, which in this case is rectangular and should, in principle, be horizontal. That is:

On the other hand, if you lift the bag by the shoulder strap, the carabiner attached to the end of the strap slides to one end of the rectangle, and then turns the whole thing around, and the rectangle intended to be horizontal immediately stands up vertically. Therefore, the bag looks like this in practice:

A computer bag is obviously not considered a fashionable accessory, so in this case it can be said that if I care so much about my appearance, I should not carry a laptop bag regardless of the brand. But I've also seen a lot of elegant bags that also had this tiny, but for some reason very annoying beauty flaw. In these cases, the answer is obviously that those who are into fashion should not carry a half-brick with them, and then their pretty little reticle will not be deformed by being pulled down by a weight placed inside it.

Not that it's not obvious, but at the end of such a post, according to experience, the disclaimer comes up here, to see if I can save some angry comments. So: no, this is not my biggest problem in life. Yes, I know that even if I had paid for it, I might have the right to complain about it, but since I inherited it, there is absolutely none. And of course, even with this insignificant little flaw, I am very happy with this great bag, which is why I proudly use it every day.

Just after half a year, every time I take it off, I compulsively return the small rectangles to the horizontal position, and as soon as I lift the bag by the shoulder strap, they immediately jump up again to the vertical position.
