Andrea Osvárt couldn't get used to the relaxed, Italian way of life, the two-hour lunch break bothers her. The two Hungarians living in Italy introduced Rome to the press and what they know about dolce vita.

“When I moved to Milan six years ago, I saw Italy as total chaos. I couldn't detect any system in the way they drive, the way they spread the vegetables on the pizza, the way they travel on the bus. It took time for the chaotic situation to clear up, today I can adjust here, said fashion photographer Zoltán Tombor.

Italians keep beer in their back pockets

Dreher, which distributes the Italian beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro in this country, tried to introduce a previously unknown phenomenon, the Italian beer culture, on a press tour in Rome, after the opening of Emporio Peroni on Andrássy út a few days ago. In addition to the actress Andrea Osvárt and fashion photographer Zoltán Tombor, who are closely related to the Italian lifestyle, the brand's representatives also invited the jolly joker celebrity Gianni Annoni (according to the rationale, because of his style in addition to his Italian origin) to form the three-person delegation that will launch the first beer shipment in Rome, and will pick it up in Budapest a day later.

The term Italian wine culture doesn't sound so special, but the Italian beer culture was rather surprising to me. As soon as we got to Rome, I tried to observe how the locals drink beer, but I mostly only saw this at the Peroni factory, where Gianni modeled Italian beer consumption in the bar between the offices. As he presented, the Italian man drinks beer from a glass, at an early evening aperitif, if he is standing drinking with friends, he holds the neck of the beer bottle with three fingers - he gestures freely with the other hand - or he keeps the open bottle ready in the back pocket of his jeans.

Poll: some Italian "style icons"

Alessi Manufacturer of design objects, decorative kitchen utensils. The company was founded in the twenties was founded by Giovanni Alessi, who mainly made tableware from metal. The management of the company was later taken over by the designer's son and then by his grandson, who already involved external designers in the design.

Armani Giorgio Armani started his career as a fashion designer by designing menswear. He worked as a freelance designer for many years before founding his own company and creating his own brand. Since then, it has taken a prominent place in the luxury brand market in the production of women's clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags and cosmetics.

Gucci Guccio Gucci founded the company nearly a hundred years ago. At first, he made leather bags, followed by the production of shoes. Italian and American actresses already made the brand known in the sixties.

Vespa - The scooter brand is considered an indispensable element of the Italian lifestyle. The first Vespa, meaning "wasp", appeared in 1946, and got its name from its wasp-like shape. The vehicle was an unexpected success and soon covered almost all of Italy. This vehicle never goes out of fashion.

Ferrari Enzo Ferrari, Italian racing car designer, is the founder of the Ferrari factory. The design and construction of the first Ferrari began in 1945. The racing car won many races immediately after its appearance - from the fifties, the Formula 1 races also a regular player - however, its costs were so high that the factory was forced to start producing street sports cars. It was then that the first 12-cylinder, 115-horsepower Ferrari was produced, which is the ancestor of today's models.

You have to achieve to be loved by cool people

The next word we had a lot to think about was style icon, because according to the lectures presenting the brand, this "super premium brand" is an icon. If I had a beer brand, how could I make it a style icon? - I asked the hosts. As it turned out, for this, it would be necessary to do more or less the same thing as to produce magnificent quality, not to sell it cheaply, to invite a domestic celebrity recognized by the majority, such as Valentino Rossi (at this point, we would encounter an almost insurmountable obstacle at home) to promote it, and to achieve that it is cool people eat it.

The study trip was announced in such a way that we would get to know together what the real dolce vita is, for this purpose we visited Campo di Fiori to market, Vespa around the Colosseum, but to make it easier to shade the picture, Zoltán Tombor and I asked Andrea Osvárt to analyze the Italian lifestyle.

Take a two-hour lunch break too!

„Italians are very different from Hungarians in their mentality. Not a hard-working people, not a maximalist, blood-sweating nation. They are used to the sun shining, tourists always coming. For Hungarians, this is perhaps also because it is so foreign because throughout our history we were used to being used, subjugated, and dragged around, so we are often driven by survival, said Andrea Osvárt, who moved to Italy at the age of twenty-four so that her acting career could have a bigger impact. give it a boost.

"During the last seven years I spent here, I didn't manage to embrace the Italian lifestyle, as a Hungarian it's not easy either - although I don't know what Cicciolina thinks about that. My mother always says why bother, do as the Italians do: take a two-hour lunch break. But I didn't grow up with this attitude, it still bothers me to this day that the day drags on and we sit down to dinner at ten in the evening. It should never happen at a work dinner that it starts at 7-8 in the evening and I'm home by 10."

Their whole life is based on food

In comparison to the actress, Zoltán Tombor considers it lucky that Italians keep the time of meals constant, and this brings a system to their lives. "Italian people love to eat, food and drink and everything gourmet related to food is central, almost their whole life is based on food. Their work pace and daily schedule constantly revolve around food and family. This system is he althy: Italians have breakfast around 8-9 in the morning, lunch between 1-1/2 3, and dinner between 8-10. There's nothing like here: wow, it's already five o'clock and I haven't eaten anything today."

According to the photographer, everyone is used to this system, but he cannot follow it because of his work. We photographers are always traveling, carrying stuff, running from location to location, or eating lunch from our laps in the studio, so there is no system in our lives like that of an office person.

What could be taught to Hungarians

Mentioning the Italian style, Zoltán Tombor turned to the culture of dressing, which he thinks is exemplary. "An Italian person can be recognized by his clothes anywhere in the world. It shows that it's Italian, it's so stylish, the streetscape is very unique here. You can't recognize a French, English or even Norwegian person so accurately just by looking at their clothes. An Italian woman never goes down in public without wearing the right lipstick. If you are in a sporty outfit from head to toe, you will also think carefully about which top and which shoes go well with it. Even the Hungarians could be taught this."
