Homeopathy divides people: there are those who unconditionally believe in the principle of "treating like with like", while others consider the remedy to be a scam and claim that it is all just a sham.

In the British House of Representatives, it has already been suggested that taxpayers' money should not be wasted on something whose effect is not supported by any scientific data, reports Gyermekévek. However, there are no scientific data proving effectiveness.

Proponents of homeopathy respond to the arguments regarding the lack of scientific data by saying that according to more than a hundred related studies, there is more evidence for homeopathy than against it. According to them, homeopathic medicines help the body to heal itself in contrast to traditional medicine, where the medicines suppress the symptoms of the disease and defeat the disease for us. Opponents, on the other hand, worry that faith in homeopathy may alienate patients from tried-and-tested remedies of "conventional" medicine, depriving them of a chance for recovery. As an example of this, they cite the case of the Australian couple from last year, whose 9-month-old daughter died of blood poisoning because the parents insisted on homeopathic remedies against proven effective drugs.

Is homeopathy a scam?

  • Yes
  • No

Homeopathy is very popular at home - especially among children - many people use it to reduce complaints during pregnancy or to facilitate childbirth, and there is hardly a mother who has not tried homeopathic berries, for example, for teething. However, not everyone is satisfied with the result. Nusi shares her experiences with Poronty readers:

“My little son is now 5 months old, he sleeps quite badly, and his teeth are also coming in, of course I, like all parents, try to help him to get through this period with as little pain as possible. Traditional pain relievers are used, but you can't stuff him with them all the time, as we know the teething process takes a long time. My husband and I started to search for natural remedies, which is how homeopathy, which is so popular today, came about, which is good for all kinds of diseases. We read that we need to find a drug that is suitable for him, in other words, it doesn't matter what complaints he has when teething, whether his face is hot or cold, he reacts worse to heat or cold.

After properly mapping the complaints, we selected the balls called Chamomilla 15 CH. We gave him a pellet every half hour when his pain started and waited. My little boy continued to complain a lot, but since I read that I could not harm him with it, I took him with me to the family visit on Easter. My brother was also at home with us, who claimed that homeopathy is useless, it will only make the child lactose intolerant, as these tablets are coated with milk sugar. (They certainly have a sweet taste, I tasted them myself.) I haven't given him Chamomilla since Easter, because I was insecure, I don't know when I will do my child good?"

According to Nusi, if the drug does not work, they usually say:

You have not selected the right drug

You haven't used it long enough

Symptoms are intensified by the pill for 3-4 days

What do you think about this, is homeopathy useful, or will it be revealed in a few years that it is all a big scam?
