4. month

approx. 8 kg

He's hungry, he's yelling. Cici forward, catch, heart. He spits, rolls, yells. He puts it in Cici's mouth, bites it, sucks it. The milk starts, but it spits out and rolls again. The milk squirts everywhere. Attempt to gag: unsuccessful. His ears are already full of milk. But he just yells. "Don't you understand that you don't need your breasts?!"

That's pretty much how breastfeeding works these days. Where I am persistent and after about half an hour of experimenting, begging and trying, he is finally willing to suckle, but there are times when there is no time to suckle, I have to go get the big ones, in such cases I bring out a baby bottle, formula, he cheerfully sucks it out, 10 minutes and we can go. Fortunately, he insists on breastfeeding in the morning and in the evening. Me too for at least another 2 months.

We were at a family event in Balaton over the weekend, where I took a dose of formula, and I also had my permanent milk supply part with me. She drank the formula in the morning, my breasts were full for the afternoon feeding, I also planned to breastfeed. While the adults were playing, I went to the car and put the child on my breast. The first paragraph took place again, with the difference that there was no other option, the formula had already run out. For half an hour I struggled to find the right pose and plead with the screaming child. Finally, I put her on the mother-in-law seat and managed to breastfeed her by bending over at a right angle. Afterwards, my back ached for hours, but at least Manka finally fell asleep full.

Last time I borrowed a scale to reassure those who were worried (including myself) that I wasn't overfeeding the child. It turned out that he does not eat much in terms of quantity: he consumes 400-450 ml of breast milk and about the same amount of formula per day, i.e. we are nowhere near the upper limit (1150 ml/day) set by the pediatrician. Would formula supplementation matter that much? Slowly, the child really looks like a Michelin baby, and I'm already starting to feel uncomfortable, at the reactions of strangers when they see him: "My goodness, the little one is in good shape!" Yes, you can say fat.

I'm afraid that if the ratio of breast milk to formula shifts towards the latter, even more loops and larger toca will form, which will have foreseeable consequences. To begin with, there is the question of clothes: the bodysuits and kickers for babies aged 3-6 months are so tight on the little spider belly that I am afraid that the patents will suddenly give way. Slowly, even the 3rd diaper can't get through it, not to mention how much of a suck the five floors are, where I have to carry my own weight and his eight kilos up every day.

There is no chance of giving up formula anymore: after the three mastitis, my left breast produces almost no milk, and the right one also does not produce enough milk. From the previous hypoallergenic formula (which otherwise resulted in green stools), we have now switched to plain 1 formula from another manufacturer. I hope this will help, because if we continue like this, we will have a happy ball who will only lie on his back and be unable to move other than his arms and legs.
