Even a novice housewife can easily make this chick, but even those who have no manual dexterity can really get started. Apart from the ingredients, you don't need anything other than 10 minutes and the other 15 until the eggs are cooked. The taste is similar to casino eggs, only this is much creamier and of course a completely he althy food.

Great food for a reception too, but the kids just go crazy for it. It's worth trying if your child is not a good eater, it's a real success!

What you will need

  • at least an L-sized egg
  • sour cream
  • mustár
  • raisins
  • good thick carrot
  • s alt, maybe a little ground pepper for the more daring

How to make it

First calculate how many eggs you will need, because you should expect to use at least two egg yolks for one chick filling. Boil this amount until hard, wait until they cool to lukewarm, then peel them.

After that, select separately those that you were able to peel nicely and smoothly, these will become the chicks' bodies. Take the egg yolks out of the rest and put them in a mixing bowl, and chop the proteins very small. Cut a thin ring from the bottom of the beautiful eggs you set aside so that the chick can stand straight and safely on the carrot legs.

Then comes the leg

Cut a 0.5 cm slice from the carrot, peel it and cut it zigzag on one side as shown in the picture gallery.

Don't get the small pieces that you cut out of the leg either, because these will become the beaks of the chicks. Then put the prepared carrot feet aside for a while until the body is ready.

Now comes the body

Cut off the tops of the intact eggs with a sharp knife, then carefully scoop out the yolks so that the "body" of the chick does not crack.

Break the yolks of the eggs with a fork (along with the yolks set aside) and mix in enough cream and mustard to make it creamy, but not too much or you won't be able to shape the chick's head. I only added two teaspoons of cream and one teaspoon of mustard to 3 egg yolks. Then season with s alt or pepper.

Tip: also mix the previously chopped protein into the mass, so it won't go to waste either.

The chick is forming

When the base is ready, fill it with a spoon into the proteins until well mounded. Cut raisins of the desired size and gently press them into the yellow mass. And now comes the carrot piece set aside, this will become the chick's beak.

Place the stuffed chicken on the carrot leg and place the egg white cap on top.

Tip: If you cut a small hole in the bottom of the hat, it will be easier for the yolk to stop.

Good luck and bon appetit!
