After the somewhat misunderstood Chinese fashion week, we eagerly awaited the Australian shows, which are always worth checking out, if for no other reason than the eye-catching model boys. The four-day event, which has been held in Sydney since 1995, welcomed the fashion industry and its audience this year at a new location, with a new line-up and with a new name, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia.

The spring/summer 2013-14 collections, like last year, received pastel colors and floral patterns, but the leading European trends appeared on the catwalk, such as gold, red and black and white color combinations, as well as peplum and also belly-baring tops. On the other hand, there were fewer accessories, which played a decisive role in the collections during the previous fashion weeks.

Although we primarily see Australia as a swimwear superpower, from where famous brands such as We Are Handsome, Collette Dinnigan or Ericaamerica have become world famous, it should be noted that Australia is increasingly playing a key role in the market and it boasts several leading fashion brands that sell a good number of their excellently tailored products on e.g. Asos.com.

The event was officially opened by Camilla and Marc's presentation, reports mydaily.co.uk. The collection inspired by Russian women featured black lace and gold brocade in addition to the sporty and asymmetrical dresses, which immediately put the work of the brother and sister in the center of attention.

Alex Perry came out with a new collection after two years of silence, but the feminine and wearable collection of Roopa Pemmaraju and Maticevski was also eye-catching this season. Karla Spetic seems to have adapted Dolce & Gabbana's Byzantine-inspired pieces to her own style, and Romance Was Born attracted attention in Australia with an out-of-this-world, surreal and eccentric show.

The hottest swimsuits for the next season were made by Talulah and Group Swim, who, in addition to the top super peplum swimsuit, also made a beach version of the pretty woman dress that came back into fashion for the summer of 2013-14. White Sand named its new collection "The Honeymoon", the swimsuits designed by Leah Madden appeared on the catwalk in pastel, lemon and mint shades, despite the fact that the brand's underwear was more characterized by black. Check out the swimsuits in the gallery we will roast our bellies next season!
