With clever logistics, all members of the family can vacation in the same place without spending time together, but separately, and the generations only meet if they really want to. A spa hotel and a water park are perfectly suitable locations for this - we looked at what experiences and entrance fees the trans-Danubian spas offer this year.

Zalakaros with fairytale beach

Zalakaros is building more and more intensively for families and couples looking for a romantic retreat, which is why they are carefully developing the settlement. The thermal lake and the eco-park are already in full swing, according to the plans, the 200-kilometer cycle path to the Croatian border will be handed over in the fall, and the children's kingdom in the spa has been expanded to an indoor area and equipped with creative water installations. The Vízipók-Csodapók fairytale beach opened just at Pentecost, where children are welcomed with a two-story pool and where they can go from one experience to another on a spider web rope. On the lower level, they can splash under the shade of sun sails or hide under flower petals and between water spray gates in the mysterious cave passages of the water world. Upstairs, seven types of slides, including a larger, 81-meter-long anaconda, a smaller black hole, a rainbow slide, and family slides entice children, but of course they can also fight their battles with water cannons.

Price: In the Zalakaros Bath, you have to pay separately for the entrance to the beach and the indoor bath, but if you combine the two, it will be cheaper. In this case, we have to pay HUF 3,400 for an adult ticket, HUF 500 for a child (3-5 years old), and HUF 2,800 for a child aged 6-18.

If you are looking for accommodation with children, even just for a single day, do so in a hotel that has a spa wing, children's playground, and even a babysitting service, so that the parents can enjoy each other's company, even just for a stolen hour. Travelo has visited, for example, the largest family wellness hotel in Zalakaros several times. According to the reports of our colleagues, those who want active relaxation will love the swimming pool with a heated water mirror in the hotel's garden, where a few laps in the open air at dawn can guarantee a better start to any day. And our friends with small children singled out the hotel's animators, who organize entertainment programs for the children, which makes it really worth visiting here every year. By the way, Hotel Karos Spa has recently introduced medical wellness services in addition to classic wellness, so a vacation here with grandparents guarantees real, generation-independent experiences.

Füreden with sea waves

Wave pools are worth looking for in the Annagora Aquapark in Füred, five hundred meters from the shore of Lake Balaton. Here, there is a separate wave pool for adults and a separate one for smaller children - in both places, sea-like waves are launched every hour. Next to the wave pool is an even larger children's pool surrounded by a slow-flowing river. Each slide in the water park is named according to its length, steepness and excitement factor, so we can find slides named after the phenomenon of the rotating wind as well as after onions or an anaconda.

Price: You have to buy a separate ticket in the park to use the 12 slides, which means HUF 1,500 for 5 slides, HUF 3,000 for 30 slides, but those who can handle it without sliding and are content with sitting in the pool or with swimming, they charge HUF 2,500 for an adult ticket and HUF 2,000 for a child ticket at the box office.

Those looking for accommodation near the aquapark can search for camping options on this page, from bungalows to rental caravans to rental tents, but those looking for a hotel room with all the comforts can also find accommodation - although they will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets. There is, for example, the Anna Grand Hotel Balatonfüred, located 100 meters from the Tagore Promenade in Füred, whose rooms and terrace suites will be loved by families who appreciate classic elegance and late check-out, and the Hotel Silver Resort, which offers rooms overlooking the promenade and the marina, is ideal for those looking for luxury with a panoramic view of the Balaton can have accommodation.

Sárváron with a pirate ship

Sárvár's spa water is still the first thing that comes to mind for many people, even though in addition to the spa, the family spa wing is also popular, which fills up especially in the cooler, rainy weather in summer. Here, the little ones can choose from slides of different slopes and lengths, water cannons and children's pools, while they can encounter a water empire just as big in the open space as inside the building. They can jump around numerous installations built into the water, take in the castle, occupy the pirate ship, and older members of the family will appreciate the three giant slides and the four-lane racing slide. Moreover, in the second week of July, new giant slides will be launched, one of which will be supplemented with an upward section. And if you've already managed to collect enough wet experiences, take advantage of the net features of the sports courts: shoot at the goal, play volleyball in the sand or show others how to enjoy the petanque ball game. If that's not enough, walk over to the adventure park next to the spa, where you can slide and climb on 11 forest wire rope courses.

Then there are the stall gastro staples. In the area of the Sárvár beach, you will definitely be hit by the smell of horn cakes, pancakes and the fiery smell of garlic. But those who don't like any retro beach walls can choose something from the self-service restaurant. There is also a hotel in the Sárvár spa building; from the four-star VitalMed Hotel, we can practically go to the spa or to the beach in a pair of slippers, a cape, with our hands in our pockets, whether we want a quick splash or a few minutes in the sauna.

Price: Admission to the spa and the beach is HUF 3100 for adults and HUF 1450 for children. for example, a family ticket costs HUF 7,700).

On lower slopes with a snake slide

The Kolping Hotel in Alsópáhok, known for its family-friendly services, was all about construction last year: the wellness and he alth center was renovated, but the family experience spa was also renovated. The water playground and the baby pool were completed, and there was also a slide in the shape of a coiling snake. In this experience bath, even the changing cabins have been changed to family size, so parents don't even have to separate when changing.

In summer, however, the size of the hotel's water surface multiplies, and from May to September, the sunbathing terrace next to the outdoor pools is also full. You can even swim in the large pool, but there is also a whirlpool, a whirlpool, a children's pool and a 30-centimeter-deep baby paddling area protected by a giant umbrella. In addition to the water playground composed mainly for children, parents and couples looking for a quiet retreat were also thought of, so they also created a child-free zone with a separate swimming and thermal pool. The latter is worth trying after dark, when only the discreet mood lighting is switched on. At the same time, the outdoor pools, the experience bath, the wellness department and the fitness room can be visited not only by hotel guests, but also by anyone who wants to take a bath (of course only depending on the hotel's current availability).

Price: Adults can visit the beach all day with an entrance fee of HUF 3,000 and children HUF 1,500.

Zalaegerszegen with giant pools

According to the Zalaegerszeg Aquacity website, they have the country's largest wave pool, whose 1,100 square meter water surface gradually deepens, just as slowly as you would expect from a sandy beach. An even larger, irregularly shaped pool was created for sunbathers and optional bathers, and a four-meter-deep pool specifically for jumpers - they can jump into it from three edges of different heights. Then, apart from these, there is a slow river three hundred meters long, where you can float on the water in a rubber donut, three jacuzzi pools for those who want to splash, and a separate pool for children and babies.

Price: They charge HUF 3,500 for an adult day ticket and HUF 1,550 for a child, and although you have to pay separately for the slide here too, the adult ticket costs HUF 4,850 and the child ticket costs HUF 4,200 in return, everyone can slide down as much as they can.

If you are looking for accommodation in Zalaegerszeg, feel free to look around on the Aquatherma Termálfalu site, where you will also find tent camping, wooden houses and guest house rooms. Termálfalu is located directly next to Aquacity and the Zalaegerszeg Thermal Spa, in a beautiful green environment on the peninsula of Lake Gébárti.
