There are so many Santa packages available in stores that it is difficult to choose which one to give to the child on December 6. Obviously, there are many aspects when buying packages, but perhaps the most important are the price, package composition and quality. We looked at 14 different packages based on these aspects to help you decide which one is worth buying. And if you just want to buy chocolates, check out our test!

Let the packages come in alphabetical order, at the end of the article you will find a summary table of the prices, how many grams of chocolate you can get for this amount of money, and what extra gifts are hidden in the package. I have calculated whether you will save money if you put together the packages by buying the products in them separately from the store shelves. For this, I looked at the prices in Tesco, Auchan, shopline.hu and Lacsiboltja.hu.

1. Boci – HUF 699

There are no surprises in the Boci package apart from the chocolate, but 158 grams of it fit. The price of the package is HUF 699, and therefore you will receive the following: 1 pc Milk Chocolate Santa Claus (60 g), 1 pc Napolini, wafer dipped in milk chocolate, filled with cocoa cream (30 g), 1 milk chocolate bar (50 g), 2 banana-flavored fondant candy dipped in dark chocolate(2×9g). Now, I calculated how much you would spend if you bought the same chocolates separately. The total value of the Boci Mikulás, the wafer and the bar of chocolate is 516 forints, to which you also need to add 2 pieces of measured brown sugar, which is about 20 forints, plus the packaging 50 forints, so a total of 586 forints would be the Santa package of your own selection. I think that the HUF 100 that can be saved this way is not such an amount that it would be worth the splurge. If Boci is your child's/grandchild's favorite, we think you should buy this package.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 100

2. Bonbonetti – HUF 1186

The Bonbonetti package contains Tibi and Bonbonetti branded products, including: 1 tibi milk chocolate (90 g), 1 tibi strawberry-cream slice (30 g), 1 pc Bonbonetti French dressing (70 g), 1 pc Bonbonetti Gardina jelly (100 g),1 tibi Mikulás (40 g), and for these sweets and the wonderful box they ask HUF 1186. I don't know if this paper gift box is worth HUF 438, but that's the difference between the prices of the Bonbonetti package and the prices of the sweets I have selected - but the same - at the hyper.

Do you think the box version is worth it?

  • No, I'll put the package together instead!
  • It's still worth it, at least I don't have to suffer with it.
  • I'd rather buy something else, thank you.

3. Bonbonetti, Disney – HUF 1469

This package contains the following: 1 Bonbonetti dark chocolate, marzipan slice (60 g), 1 Crazy Bee Frutty gummies (80 g), 1 Winnie the Pooh Santa Claus (60 g), 5 Minnie mouse raspberry-cream bacon candy (5×11, 5 g).

It's funny that they were able to add more than HUF 2,000 to the specific price per kilo compared to the previous Bonbonetti product, just because it has Disney on it. Oh, and because this one has Winnie the Pooh and not plain Tibi (which is the same chocolate, only Santa has Winnie the Pooh's head) and Minnie Mouse candy. All the ingredients of the box can be obtained in any hiber, except for the Disney brown sugar, which unfortunately I only found in a 345 gram package. The point is, if you buy everything yourself and calculate the specific price of the brown sugar, this package costs no more than HUF 783, which is almost half the price of buying the prepackaged box. At this price, you can even carve if you add plain, measured brown sugar instead of Disney.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 686

4. Figaro – HUF 599

This bag didn't hide an extra gift either; contains only sweets: 1 milk chocolate Santa figure (40 g), 1 bomb cookie (45 g), 1 Bombi Bears gum (90 g), 1 piece of Yami pectin jelly (25 g). In terms of specific price, this was the cheapest among the samples, and moreover, buying the pre-made package is cheaper than choosing it yourself. Okay, the difference is only HUF 23, but if we look at the differences between the previous products (opposite signs), the extra point goes to Figaro!

5. Kinder Maxi Mix with plush figure - HUF 2375

Many children like Kinder products, but if you choose this package, you should expect that the child will not get too many chocolates, because for this amount you only get these: 1 Kinder Country(23.5 g), 1 Kinder Bueno (43 g), 1 Kinder Maxi Chocolate (21 g),1 Kinder Schokobons (46 g) and a Kinder plush figure. So the price per kilo of HUF 17,857 includes the plush. If you were to buy the chocolates separately, you would have to shell out exactly HUF 614, minus the figure, of course, for which they charge HUF 1,761. Oh yes, you should also give up the pretty little cardboard box, because the gifts were pressed into it.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 614 (this does not include the price of the figure)

Is the plush worth so much money?

  • I don't know how much the plushies cost.
  • Of course, for the stupid too!

6. Kinder Mix house – HUF 849

Kinder again, fantastic idea and gifts again: 1 Kinder Surprise (20 g), 1 Kinder Santa Claus (15 g), 1 Kinder Chocolate Maxi (21 g), 1 Kinder Country (23.5 g). The trick here is that you can't buy the 15-gram Santa Claus individually, only three, but even so, the package I bought virtually is cheaper than the finished house by maybe 50 forints. However, if I only look at the price of the chocolates per Santa Claus, then the package I put together costs HUF 519 instead of HUF 849. If you have not only one, but also two or three children/grandchildren, the remaining two 15-gram chocolates won't go to waste either.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 330

7. M&M's figure – HUF 2199

The biggest shame in this review was the two M&M's products for me, as neither of them contains anything other than 90 grams of plain peanut M&M's dragee, which is liketwo plain M&M's dragee bags (45 grams each). Now, the total price of these is HUF 392. Compared to this, the shaped dispenser (I have no idea what this name means) costs HUF 2,199. With this, he also won the most expensive title with a specific price of HUF 24,433.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 1807 (this does not include the price of the figure)

8. M&M's ball - HUF 1286

A A sphere containing 90 g of peanut sauce costs HUF 1,286 at least, but in return you can hang the empty yellow plastic sphere on the Christmas tree. Hooray!

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 894 (this does not include the sphere)

9. MicRose – HUF 1799

In terms of its specific price, it's a pretty cheap package, but unfortunately I couldn't find the products available in the package on store shelves. The plain package of Figaro and Bonbonetti is also cheaper than this, if that helps you in your decision. By the way, you can find these in MicRose: 1 Zizi (50 g) , 1 red Santa Claus (70 g) , 1 crumbly toffee (70 g), 1 fruit charm (100 g) , 1 Santa treat (30 g), 1 piece of Night&Day cocoa-rum flavored milk chocolate (100 g) , 1 piece of crackers, 5 grains of brown sugar (55 g). It should be mentioned here that this was the only package that came with virgács, which, let's face it, belongs to the Santa packages, just like the tangerine. We didn't find the latter in any of the packages, which isn't too surprising (it rots, deteriorates, etc.), but if you assemble the stuff yourself, don't leave it out!

You save so much if you put it together yourself: unfortunately I couldn't find these products.

10. Milka – HUF 1,662

The many Milkás mugs in the cupboard are boring enough, don't expand the repertoire this year, there is nothing new in it. They ask HUF 1,662 for the whole package in exchange for the following: 1 Milka Alpine milk chocolate Santa figure (60 g), 1 Milka Alpine milk chocolate Santa figure (20 g), 4 Milka Alpine milk chocolate balls (4 x 12, 5 g), 1 ceramic mug From this package, only the 60 gram Santa Claus can be bought separately, it costs HUF 379, while the price of the 20 gram one is unknown. If my guess is correct, this package does not exceed HUF 700, of course, not including the mug.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: about HUF 962 (this does not include the price of the mug)

11. Nestlé, Smarties – HUF 1499

You won't believe what's in the package! Of course Smarties Also. And more: 1 milk chocolate Santa Claus milk chocolate with sugar syrup (100 g), 1 milk chocolate reindeer milk chocolate with sugar syrup (21 g), 1 Smarties Classic Milk Chocolate Dragee with sugar coating (38 g), 2 Smarties Mini Milk Chocolate Dragee with sugar coating (2×14, 4 g). I couldn't find all the elements of the package individually on the shelves, but the price they ask for it is roughly realistic. If you are assembling the package, instead of the Smarties Santa Claus, choose the chocolate Santa Claus with explosive sugar, also a Nestlé brand. Much more powerful stuff, believe me!

12. Riegelein – HUF 549

2 Santa Clauses, 1 bell chocolateAvailable for HUF 549. I think this package is good for the price, it would be about the same if I had packed the contents together.

You save so much if you put it together yourself: the price is about right, it comes out similar if you put it together yourself.

Supposedly, this is Riegelein good chocolate

Yes, very delicious

13. Lucky package – HUF 969

There are a lot of good things in the Lucky package, at least it seems so at first. And the truth is that the disguise is only good, because 3 pieces of jelly candy (29 g), 1 piece of Szerencsi Snowflake (20 g), 1 piece of Santa milk chocolate figure Apart from (20 g) and 2 Santa milk chocolate figures (2x18 g), there is not much else in it. That's why it's really not worth spending HUF 969, and the packaging isn't the best either. It's better to put together the package yourself, maybe half as much will come out of the same things. If you bought these things individually, everything would cost HUF 510 in total, plus, right, a cool Santa package.

You save this much if you put it together yourself: approx. HUF 460

14. Hunter Kid – HUF 543

The Hunter's package is not a scam, you get exactly what you expect and for as much as you expect: Hunter bacon candy, 1 Santa and 1 snowman figure, for HUF 543. There are those who find the Vadász chocolates very delicious. What is your opinion? Write it on our Facebook page!
