Whether this actually happens depends on the condition and he alth of the heart. Because when someone is in a stressful situation, the body's "fight or flight" reaction immediately starts, which increases the level of adrenaline: as a result, the heart beats faster to get more oxygen to the muscles, which makes the person stronger and faster. On the other hand, if a person is faced with something really stressful and scary, the body may receive too much adrenaline, which the heart may not be able to handle, as its tissues may be damaged.
