It dries the skin, doesn't dissolve grease properly, you need too much of it, it's expensive - these are the arguments that housewives usually give when we ask them what they hate about their dishwashing detergent. Fortunately, the extremely pedantic Germans have now examined hand washing detergents after sun lotions to find out which ones are worth buying and which ones are not. A summary of the Stiftung Warentest test follows.

In the laboratory, the plates were smeared with a mixture of fat, oil, flour and milk powder, and then the plates were washed in 5 liters of warm water using the amount specified in the instructions for use. The testers washed dishes until the washing water was completely dirty. During the test, the plates were wiped twenty times on one side and six times on the bottom. In the other half of the study, they tried to remove oil and starch-containing dough from stainless steel plates. The sheets were then soaked in water for 10 minutes, just like a housewife. After that came automated scrubbing, with precisely measured quantities. By the end of the test, more than 8,000 plates were clean. 28 products were tested, including concentrates, products for sensitive skin and traditional dishwashing detergents.

How much of what should be used?

It is worth knowing about the concentrates that they contain less water and more surfactants than the traditional version. Therefore, 2-3 ml of the concentrates (equivalent to a teaspoon) are needed for 5 liters of water, while the traditional versions require a little more, i.e. 3-5 ml.

Skin care while washing the dishes

During the rough phase of the experiment, the testers stuck adhesive patches soaked in washing-up liquid to their backs, and then examined the effect it had on the skin.3 of the products intended for sensitive skin received an excellent rating, but it has not been confirmed that these products are necessarily gentler on the skin than the traditional version. Those who are sensitive should be careful with Rossmann's Domol Power product, because it caused visible skin redness in the test subjects in 2 cases.

The test mapping the German market naturally included several dishwashing detergents that are not on the market in Hungary. We do not include them in the article.

Very good results were achieved by 3 products, one of them is Pril Kraft Gel-ultra, which has an outstanding cleaning effect, does not irritate the skin, is easy to dose and comes in a safe packaging.

The Fairy Ultra plus concentrate is sold here under the name Jar, it also achieved very good results, although it had problems with the dough drying out. The Lidl W5Ultra Power washing-up liquid was placed in the good category, which performed a little more poorly in removing fresh greasy and starchy food residues, it is relatively difficult to open and close, and its description is not sufficiently legible. The Pril normál version got stuck in the removal of dried-on dirt, and the grip of the bottle is not suitable either. The product called Aldi Alio ultra classic was also deducted for being difficult to open, and it doesn't like dry pasta either.

The Rossmann Domol Power product is not recommended for people with sensitive skin, which is unfortunate because otherwise it would be among the best in terms of washing effect. The same cannot be said about Dm's product, the washing effect of Denkmit Ultra plus is not very good, but at least the company pays attention to environmental protection, because they got very good results.

The Pril Sensitive Aloe Vera was added to the Runs category, which may be more suitable for skin care, because although it is good for the skin, it cleans it pathetically. The Aldi Alio original is also not a very good choice if you were to choose based on the washing effect, moreover, it is difficult to open and close, the writing on it is lame, and the dosage is not safe either. The Lidl W5 Sensitive product received few points due to similar products, although its dosing ability is not bad. The Denkmit citromos washing-up liquid is also weak.

And what is forgettable

It's sad, but there are products that could not satisfy almost any criteria. Such is the Domol Sensitiv from Rossmann, which may be good for blowing bubbles, but it is useless as a washing-up liquid, the versions of Frosch sima and Aloe verás sensitiv, which failed in the test, the Palmolive Original and concentrated version, as well as the Ecover lemon-aloe verás remedy, which is also unsuitable for what it was developed for.
