Violet. A smiling blonde girl in front of a pink-purple background. This month, even those who don't watch Disney Channel on TV saw it, because in the back-to-school departments of hypermarkets, in addition to the usual cartoon characters, his face is also on notebook covers, pen holders, bags and who knows what else. Anyone whose daughter is already in school has certainly heard about it. If nothing else, the way the child brought home the Violetta theme from school.

I stumbled upon it the same way, I didn't understand why my ten-year-old daughter screamed at the sight of a Violettá notebook in the small paper shop on the corner. I bought it for him, having no idea what was going to happen next: he got the word out on the way home. It turned out that this is a series on TV, teenage girls and boys sing and dance in it, it was made and takes place in Argentina. I admit, I was quite scared, because Latin American series have a kind of addiction, and who knows if my daughter needs to watch so much love and romance at the age of 10, but it seemed that the music of the series is what enchanted her. This is when mom sits down in front of the TV or the Internet and looks at what it's all about, whether or not she should panic and put the thing on the blacklist. The latter won: I responsibly determined that this series would make my daughter neither a slave girl with a mare nor a blind drama lady, so I allowed her to watch the series humming and dancing when she had finished her other duties and that was what was playing on the TV. This is how we started today, because the Violetta Live concert tour composed of the songs performed in the series will entertain the fans today and tomorrow in Budapest, and thanks to W alt Disney Hungary, we were able to see the first domestic performance, thanks to them!

Going to a concert is a very adult thing. At least for a ten-year-old girl. Mine is a very nervous type, it's a general rule in the family that if there is a program, we only tell him 1-2 days before, otherwise he'll freak out and have to deal with a big tantrum on the program. I announced the news of the Saturday concert on Thursday morning, from the afternoon I had to watch Violetta clips on Disney's website, because he wanted to "lay the groundwork". I have no idea where he got this from, just like the adults, I was confused.

In the Aréna metro station, it was already clear that this was going to be a very girly program: every adult was holding at least one little girl's hand, and the most frequently heard phrase when rushing through the gate was "Don't let go of my hand!". I said it a few times too, yes.

But who is, what is Violetta?

The Argentine television film series Violetta, interspersed with music and dance inserts, debuted in 2012. It is about a young girl blessed with great musical talent who moves back to her hometown, Buenos Aires, after many years in Europe. The film series shows his adventures in art school, family conflicts and teenage love. The main character, Martina Stoessel, is an 18-year-old Argentinian actor-singer, who became known worldwide thanks to the series. The series is the most successful product of Disney Channel Latin America, a worthy successor to the Love Notes - High School Musical movies - to the delight of teenage girls who watch the long-established children's channel. Martina and her team have been touring since January with a spectacular concert of the songs from the series so far. They have already completed 127 performances.

After we bought the obligatory cold drink in the buffet and fought in the souvenir shop for the Violetta flag and poster, we managed to get our seats in the auditorium just as the lights came on and the performance began.

I somehow thought that the show would build up gradually, but it didn't: immediately, the whole team jumped into it with full energy, singing, dancing, fooling around. Close-ups of the singers were displayed on two giant projectors, colorful graphics and parts of the lyrics alternated on the central display system, which was arranged in a tricky way, sometimes covering the band and sometimes allowing it to be seen. Martina (Violetta) is beautiful and very lovable on stage. She's energetic in the faster songs, emotional in the lyrical ones, I don't know how such a young girl has so much emotion, but she has it and can convey it. During the first two numbers, I looked at my daughter three times to see if she liked what she saw, but the third time there was a "what???" I got a snarl that from then on I only dared to glare at him from the corner of my eye. So he loved it, but I'll leave him alone (I still need to get used to being a teenager). By the third track, she squealed that it was her favorite and finally started singing, my initial concerns about the volume and flashing lights proved to be groundless. This relief was also good for the fact that I started to enjoy the performance as well. The songs were mostly in Spanish, but many Hungarian girls did well in the audience singing parts. And big girl, because there were quite a few of them! In the row behind us sat five or six buck girls, they sang all the songs at the top of their lungs (fortunately, not falsely), with great experience.

Martina and her friends kept raising the mood. They were in very nice clothes, they were clever costumes for changing. And I'd like to stop here for a bit. The shoes. My God… According to Wikipedia, Martina Stoessel is 165 cm tall, and the girl was raised by about 15 cm with her shoes (high-soled high heels), and this girl danced, jumped, leapt like this with atomic-proof stability, at 18 years old, I was impressed, that's for sure.

By the way, the audience recognized the songs after the first couple of measures, at least the jubilant squeals indicated that. After the distractions, I was reassured again and again that the child was fine and enjoying the concert, he even jumped enthusiastically when the three boys made the audience jump to one of the songs. The whole concert was dominated by a special atmosphere, a mixture of young energy, Latin temperament and the girlish charm of the audience, and I found myself morphing: this concert has already been played 127 times by this company since January, so they never get bored, don't they hate it yet? Because it seemed that they were happy to do it, and they were having fun while doing it.

The only negative thing I felt was related to one of the boys who danced Michael Jackson-inspired choreography during his solo song, I would enroll him in Zoltán Bereczki for a few hours of further training to make those moves more Jacko-like. On the other hand, I was amazed at Mercedes Lambre, who played Ludmila, Violetta's rival in the series: she is very feminine, she has a radiance that comes through on the screen, I think many fathers did not regret coming because of her. She is a few years older than Martina, and her movements, facial expressions, and the whole girl are very sexy, wild cat type. Two rows in front of us, next to a little girl, a grandfather-aged man was steadfastly filming a video with a tablet, but he also preferred to watch the projector during Mercedes' song in shorts.

Although I expected there to be a break, but there wasn't, a one and a half hour long, very dynamic concert went on, then they came back for a few more songs and some kind words of farewell - since this company is disbanding after 4 years of working together. The teenagers have become young adults, they continue on their acting and singing journey.

By the way, the Hungarian presenter was Bogi (the girl from We all), she greeted the audience, she did a scream test for the encore, and she also interpreted the actors' farewell words.

The last song was a bit out of the series, but it was unmissable: Martina sang the song Let it go from the animated movie Frozen for both the Spanish and Italian versions, we got it in Spanish now, the fairy tale movie is on the projector with details. I always hum along to these songs, and now I know that even if I don't understand the lyrics, khm.

All in all, we got a really good concert with a good band, great dancers and very nice bohemian singers. Martina Stoessel is a charming but professional performer who can only be adored - is it any wonder that all the little girls around us want to be like her, trying to imitate her movements? Violetta is the first Latin American series really intended for children, and it was obviously well thought out, but I think it can work so well because those who appear in it show that they did it with joy and passion. If the child learns from it imperceptibly that success requires work in addition to talent, and that it is possible to love the path leading to the goal, that is enough.
