Since there are always cooler and cooler phones from big manufacturers, choosing the best phone is not so easy anymore, especially if the purchase also comes with a two-year loy alty statement. And for those who like to always have the newest, coolest device, the constant business takes up their time (and money). Fortunately, there is an easier way to always use the latest devices, or simply replace them if it turns out in a few months that it is not the device of your dreams.

Until now, if you bought a phone from your service provider, you had to commit to a roughly two-year loy alty period to get the best price. This means that you could not change the tariff package for that long, nor could you buy another device at a discount - not even if you simply wanted the latest device, or even if your phone was stolen or became unusable. Telekom and Telenor, on the other hand, have found out how to change this.

Telekom

Telekom thought of Apple fans in the first round. By renting a device, they guarantee that their customer will always have the latest iPhone phone, moreover, they don't have to spend a lot of money at the same time, but only have to pay the phone rental fee added to the bill. Then when the new model comes, you can simply replace the previous model with the new one. You don't have to worry about selling it to someone at a lower price, you don't have to collect it again, you simply get it and rent it from then on. The device lease guarantees that you will receive a new phone every year, while the monthly rental fee also includes insurance, so you can use the phone, which is not even your own, with a degree of peace of mind. They also take care of the used iPhone, which means you don't have to bother with advertising or haggling with it at the phone shops in the basement. The rental fee depends on the device you choose: for example, the rental fee for a 16 GB iPhone 6S is HUF 14,990 per month, and the most expensive is the 128 GB 6S Plus, for which you have to pay HUF 22,990 (and of course, you also pay for these rental fees the monthly fee).

It's good to think about it: Choose this version if you really don't insist on having ownership over something. Even with the cheapest version, you pay HUF 180,000 for the device in one year, which won't even be yours, but you can request a new device at the end of the year - or you can buy one, but that doesn't include the HUF 180,000 paid in advance. If you put aside the rent for a year, you can even buy the device, although you have to use it for two years.

Telenor

Telenor has come up with a more flexible offer for its subscription customers and says that you can change phones at any time during the two-year loy alty period, but the loy alty period will be longer. If you want, you can keep your old phone, but if you want to get rid of it because you don't need it, it will be included in the price of the new device, so you are actually doing business with Telenor instead of street vendors. You can only request a device credit if your phone is in good condition, has all accessories and is not scratched. If it is slightly damaged (the display and the back panel are scratched or the frame is worn), it can still be counted, but at a lower value. You have to separate the device exchange fee (this depends on how recent your loy alty declaration is and what phone you currently have, as well as whether it is paid in installments) and the price of the new device (in addition to several zero-forint devices, high-end devices have the same fee). You can request installment payments only for the price of the new device, not for the device replacement fee, which means that these must be settled on the spot, which can be reduced by including your old device.

It's good if you think it through: If you switch to a higher package, it may be cheaper to change the device, but you cannot change it to a lower one during the two-year loy alty declaration. When exchanging the device, you will be the owner of the phone, but if you still want a new one, you can exchange it up to a month after purchase.

Vodafone

As part of the Köszönet program, Vodafone customers receive discounted device offers, depending on how long they have had a subscription with the service provider and how much their monthly fee is. Discounted device purchases can be made from the 21st month of the two-year loy alty agreement. You need to register for the exchange, after which you will find out whether you are en titled to a discounted device exchange and how much the discount is.

It's good if you think about it: You have to be careful when choosing a phone, because you won't be able to get another one at a discounted price for 21 months instead of the phone you selected.
